  WRCP : Challenges
The task to launch the White Ribbon Campaign in Pakistan and to make people understand this novel concept of men working to end violence against women was not an easy one.  The main challenges the campaign faced were:
Campaigns for stopping violence against women are still received with certain reservations. The
common consensus is that the situation is not as prevalent as is being portrayed and NGOs are promoting vested interests of western countries.
People believe that issues such as poverty, access to basic civic amenities, governance and
political processes are more important.
Men consider joining such initiatives that talk about women's rights against their masculinity.
Misinterpretation of religion where men see themselves as superior to women hampers the
  campaign.
Media also shows a biased attitude towards issues of violence against women and the cases are
often reported in an insensitive manner focusing more on the victim than the issue itself.
There are many flaws in the legal system that usually protect the offenders and promotes
violence against women. Providers of justice are mostly men and they often have personal biases towards women.
Though the government policies support the initiatives to curb violence against women, the
insensitive attitude of some officials hampers these drives.
